PartsBox matches a scanned bag label to its order line. The customer reference is the surest match. When you export a cart, PartsBox writes the ID Anything™ code of each order line into the customer reference column. DigiKey prints that code on the bag label.
PartsBox matches a label without a customer reference by its other fields. PartsBox finds the order by the distributor's order number, which you enter on the order in PartsBox. PartsBox finds the line by the distributor part number or the manufacturer part number (MPN). When more than one line can match, PartsBox shows the open order lines for the part and you pick one.
The quantity on the label is the quantity received. When a distributor ships one line in two bags, each scan receives the quantity in that bag. The rest of the line stays open until the next bag arrives. Print the order's own code on the paperwork, and one scan opens the order on any computer.
